Ford Motor Co. confirmed its Ranger midsize pickup and Bronco SUV would return to North America.
President-elect Donald Trump is touting decisions by Fiat Chrysler and Ford Motor Co.to expand plants and create new jobs in the USA, as the auto industry gathers for its annual show in Detroit.
So, now that we know Ford plans to sell a new Bronco SUV in 2020, what exactly do we know about it?
Joe Hinrichs, executive vice president and president of Ford, revealed that the Ranger mid-sized truck will return in 2019, while the Bronco is set to debut in 2020.
Production on the Ford Bronco ended in 1996 shortly after a white Bronco was used by O.J. Simpson as a getaway vehicle during a nationally televised chase with police in California.
"The Ranger, meanwhile, will be all-new and "tailored to the needs of North American customers with unique front styling, engines and features", according to Mike Levine, Ford product communications manager for North America".

The Bronco will be a midsized vehicle as well, since it will share its architecture with the Ranger.

The last Ford Ranger built in the US was a fleet order for Orkin Pest Control, which had adopted the Ranger as a mainstay vehicle before shifting to the Tacoma.
