GW's women's cross country, golf, gymnastics, women's swimming & diving, men's tennis, men's and women's track and women's water polo teams notched a flawless 1,000.
The University of Washington's average April rate for athletics rose to 991, marking the seventh consecutive year that the average rate has risen.

April is a measurement of retention of student-athletes from year to year and academic progress toward graduation. Three-point improvements in baseball and football four-year rates contributed to that increase.
Every Division I sports team calculates its April each academic year, similar to a report card. Twenty-one of the 22 squads - most in school history - exceeded or equaled the national average for public universities in their sports and, for the first time in school history, every Wildcat team scored at least 958.

Division I student-athletes across the country continue to make gains in the classroom, earning all-time high results in the April. The only SEC school with a higher overall average over the four-year period was Vanderbilt. In addition, men's basketball teams earned a 966 four-year rate (up from 964), and women's basketball teams earned a 980 (up from 978).

The newly released multiyear April scores are comprised of data submitted for 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16. Included in that group are men's golf, baseball, men's basketball, football, men's track and field, women's basketball, women's cross country, women's golf, soccer and women's tennis. Stanford, with a flawless 1,000 score, was first.
The nine programs' rankings were based on multi-year scores in their respective sports.
The football team made strides, earning a multi-year score of 975. The football team scored a 980, which bettered the national average for Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams by 14 points. The men's hoops team's multi-year score also ranks seventh in the league.
