Two teams that believe they can improve on their opening performance hook up against Sunday in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, who scored 28 and 38 points in Game 1, proved to be the major difference between the two teams. Golden State had 31 assists on 45 made field goals, and the players were able to get to any spot on the court that they pleased. "But having him back on the bench means a lot".
Curry had a triple-double with 32 points (on 17 shots), 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
Klay Thompson contributed 22 points for the Warriors, who used their explosive offence to suffocate Cleveland's usually stingy defence. Golden State has won 106 consecutive games when shooting better than 50 percent, a streak going back to November 2014. If I score six points and that wins us four games and the NBA Championship, I can do that every year.
Kerr took a leave of absence after Game 2 of Golden State's first-round series with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Phil Mickelson withdraws from US Open
Mickelson has not officially withdrawn, but it seems only a first-round weather washout could allow him to participate. Phil Mickelson is putting family first as he opts to skip the only major he's never won for daughter's graduation.
Attackers of Egyptian Christians trained in Libya
Egypt's Christian minority, which makes up about 10% of the country's population, has repeatedly been targeted by armed groups. Six air strikes against "terror camps in Libya" were reported by the state-run television.
Newark Airport gives all clear after suspicious package forces evacuation
Police say a terminal at Newark Liberty International Airport has been evacuated after a pressure cooker was found on site. They were also used in the Boston Marathon bombing in the U.S. in 2013 and in terrorist attacks around the world.
"I will say this-this is not going to be a case where I'm coaching one night, not coaching the next", he said. "'. Maybe get a little teary-eyed". "I wanted to string together a few good days".
Before the game, Lue said it's good to have Kerr back on the sideline for the Finals.
He ran circles around James during one masterfully skillful sequence, then drove left through the paint for a right-handed layup over the star's outstretched arm during a signature moment in another rout. That changed dramatically - and so did the margin of the Golden State lead - when the Warriors had a pair of 3-pointers apiece in 13-0 and 13-1 third-quarter flurries that buried the Cavaliers. "I love being with the players and staff, so it's fun to be back up here".
Now, Golden State is headed to Northeast Ohio needing just two more - yet don't count on anybody considering this series close to done. They have more versatility on their roster, and can match up just about anything the Cavs can throw at them.
Golden State already had a great team past year in a 73-win season, but the addition of Kevin Durant has made things downright miserable on LeBron.
