Harry Kane marked his first game as captain with a stoppage-time equaliser as England denied Scotland a famous victory in Saturday's 2-2 World Cup qualifying draw in Glasgow.

Three Lions substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looked to have set the visitors on course for a World Cup qualifying victory with a 70th-minute opener.

Harry Kane will retain the England captaincy for a forthcoming friendly meeting with France, manager Gareth Southgate has confirmed.

"It is fundamental to being a top team but it is only one step in that direction, we can still improve in all areas, we all know that, but nevertheless it is a significant moment I think", he said.

"To score two goals that late in the game we just have to see the game out but it was a poor pass when it was three on one in the attack and they put the ball in the box for a great finish from Harry Kane". We've had lots of discussions as a team about what we can do better. "It was probably the tallest wall you could put up in European football today and he went round the side, over the top, he is a good character, a wonderful character, odd but wonderful", he said of the Celtic forward.

"In terms of the task that we have got, that bit can't be underestimated, but we have to hope there are some young players in the U-21s and U-20s who can add to that". They were like a heavyweight boxer and we were middleweight, which we expected.

"We knew it was going to be tough away from home in an worldwide qualifier and with Scotland doing everything to stay in the World Cup".

Hart, ostracised by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and likely to leave the Premier League club this summer, was also guilty of high-profile mistakes during last summer's European Championships as England were embarrassingly eliminated by Iceland.

"When I first came into the England squad, Wazza [Rooney] was great with me".

Stanley Cup Final: Predators even series with 4-1 Game 4 victory
Penguins' coach Mike Sullivan juggled his lines freely as the game progressed to try to spark his team's offence, but to no avail. The tone of the series suggests the Predators have the Penguins on the ropes, or at least backed a little into a corner.

"It is a good point away from home". I have a steady mind and I know my ambitions, I know what I want to do, and this team has great ambition.

He said: "We're never going to blame each other, we're not that team - the bigger picture is far more important".

"We came to a hostile atmosphere and controlled game".

"I think we do have to win the remaining fixtures", said Robertson.

"We have four games left and we could win all of them".

"We had good moments, we got into good positions in the final third".

"I practice the free-kicks every day in training".

The draw means England's cushion at the top of Group F has been narrowed to two points, but there remains confidence within the group that it is a matter of when rather than if they qualify for the World Cup.
