There's not one place that I go to, that Floyd goes to, that anybody affiliated or associated with Floyd Mayweather [goes to], that [we don't get] asked the question, 'Floyd, are you gonna fight Conor McGregor?' This is a very, very hot fight and this is a fight that the fans want.

Mayweather will reportedly be paid over 100 million U.S. dollars for the contest, which will be broadcast on pay-per-view networks across the world.

Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have agreed to finally have their heavily anticipated boxing match in Las Vegas on August 26.

Heading straight to social media - where the fight was confirmed by Mayweather on Wednesday - McGregor, 27, posted an image of himself and Mayweather Sr, Floyd's 64-year-old father, with the caption "THE FIGHT IS ON", a clear jab at the unbeaten American's age (40).

Irishman McGregor is the only UFC fighter to hold a world title in two different weight divisions.

Mayweather, who retired in September 2015 after winning all 49 of his pro fights, will face the Irish UFC superstar at the T-Mobile arena on the Las Vegas Strip.

That could be what keeps McGregor out of the UFC going forward.

According to a report from ESPN's Darren Rovell, the boxing stud is already looking ahead to a win against McGregor, as he's filed five trademarks related to what could be his new record of "50-0". But the reason Conor McGregor's as big as he is is he'll fight anybody, anywhere, anytime. "And he's coming. He knows Conor McGregor is coming after him and Floyd is looking to get his ass up out of there, too".
