Israel on Saturday responded harshly to errant Syrian army fire that hit the Israeli side of the Golan Heights. The spokesman did not say whether the errant fire from Syria consisted of mortar rounds, artillery shells or bullets.
The IDF video contradicts a Syrian military claim carried by Syrian state-run media that the Israeli strikes had targeted "services facilities and residential buildings in the surroundings of al-Baath city in Quenitra".
Israel has occupied most of Syria's Golan Heights since the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.

Israel launched strikes on Syrian military positions Saturday, close to the two countries' disputed border in the Golan Heights, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
However, the Israeli army denied the allegations and released footage purportedly showing two machine guns and one tank being targeted and hit. The source did not mention Syrian fire into Israel and said the Israeli strike was in support of jihadist rebels. It subsequently annexed the strategic plateau overlooking northern Israel, but that annexation is not global recognized.
Around 510 square km of the Golan are under Syrian control.
