Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who opened up Washington's relations with Beijing, has reportedly suggested to current U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and senior U.S. officials to draw a different approach in convincing China to take a stronger stance on North Korea.

Senator Lindsey Graham said he was told by Trump that Kim Jong-Un is a madman said he will go to war to prevent North Korea from getting a nuclear weapon. In particular, China has proposed that North Korea freeze its nuclear and missile programs in exchange for a halt to major military exercises by American and South Korean forces on the Korean Peninsula and off its coast.

The U.S. president stressed that his administration will be able to take care of the North and can handle the situation. "They hold the primary responsibility to keep things moving, to start moving in the right direction, not China".

China has blamed the U.S. for the North Korea missile crisis and asserted the only solution was for Washington and Pyongyang to hold a dialogue.

After North Korea tested a missile on Friday that could theoretically hit NY and Washington, DC, Trump took to Twitter to bash China for not doing more to curb North Korea's nuclear program.

There's the one stated in the tweets above: China could solve the problem if it would only try.

"In a way, the threat of sanctions is still a way of trying to find a political solution". His worry, however, was not North Korea but that China would close the technology gap between the US and Chinese militaries. "China controls North Korea", he said in 2013. It added that the U.S.is risking "adding kindling or, even worse, pouring oil on the flames".

Xinhua's editorial is a direct response to Trump's tweets targeting China over the weekend.

Schumer called on Trump to use the inter-agency committee "to suspend the approval of all mergers and acquisitions in the U.S.by Chinese entities". The reported recent tightening of China's outbound foreign direct investment (OFDI) controls in tandem with state funding for OFDI in many sectors indicate that major foreign investments in the US from China are increasingly tied to state interests.

Li's remarks came after Pyongyang test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile on July 28 that has a range to hit major U.S. cities. "They are using the Norks to taunt us", he said, using slang for North Koreas.

Donald Trump's combination or ineptitude, disinterest, and instability are empowering a threat to the entire world.
