England captain Joe Root said Thursday that Woakes, who is fit again after a side strain sustained during the Champions Trophy in June, will replace Toby Roland-Jones in the only change from the innings-and-209-run win in the first Test.
The fight so lacking in West Indies' efforts during the opening Test of the series in Birmingham was there for all to see during a mammoth 246-run stand between Brathwaite and Hope that spanned 68.3 overs.
Live coverage of the second Test continues on Sky Sports Cricket from 10am on Sunday with a Coaching Clinic from Nasser Hussain and Rob Key on one-day batting preceding the live action at 11am.
And Roach was to join him on four wickets when Chris Woakes feathered a cut shot through to Dowrich on 23, meaning England were all out for 258 inside 71 overs.
Hope senior was then caught brilliantly by a diving Root at second slip as West Indies were reduced to 35 for three. We're still evolving and trying to improve.
A bad thing has happened to West Indies cricket! "We still tried to get wickets rather than creating pressure", he said.
"We didn't bowl well - we didn't create enough pressure. We talk about bowling in partnerships but there was always a release of pressure from one end".
John Cena surprised by fans whose letters moved him to tears
You all lead by example, and I mean it when I say it: "Don't ever give up". "Some really, really heartfelt stuff", said Cena. What the superstar didn't know is that everyone who wrote him a letter was waiting to surprise him and thank him in person.
Los Angeles Dodgers land Curtis Granderson from New York Mets
Granderson, at 36 years old, also brings another veteran presence to the team seeking it's first World Series win in 29 years. Granderson batted just.228 in 111 games with NY this season but has hit 19 home runs and driven in 52 runs.
North Korea tensions show signs of winding down

After a series of outswingers, it was an inswinger which found Hope's outside edge and Joe Root took an excellent catch to his left at second slip.
But since making the first of his 13 Test centuries at Headingley, against New Zealand in 2013, his six subsequent Test innings in Leeds have yielded a mere 73 runs at an average of just over 12.
The England fast bowler now has 495 Test wickets.
Woakes had become a mainstay in all three worldwide formats, but a side strain suffered barely two overs into England's Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh at The Oval in June put him out of action for 11 weeks. It was not until his 17th innings that he finally passed fifty - although that helped West Indies to a series-levelling victory against Pakistan in Bridgetown earlier this year - but Brathwaite predicted that a player he has grown up alongside would now go on to establish himself.
From 109 for three at lunch, Brathwaite and Hope added 97 more in the middle session as the sun shone, the ball softened and spirits flagged in the field.
"I think Shai's a top-quality player and I know he will do extremely well in global cricket", Brathwaite said. In the meanwhile, England has announced their squad that will take part in the second Test at Headingley.
Roston Chase taking 4 wickets is an encouraging sign for the Windies amidst the mediocrity of Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph in the first Test, who persisted with half trackers outside the off stump.
