Even if a bowl game is in the Bruins' future this season, moving forward with head coach Jim Mora may not. The news was announced one day after UCLA lost to USC and fell to 5-6 on the season.

There is no word on who will coach the Bruins for their regular season finale against Cal on November 24, but it is a big game for the team, as they will become bowl eligible with a win.

It looked like Mora was ready to lead the Bruins back in the national title mix following a Pac-12 South title in 2012, his first season with the program.

"Making a coaching change is never easy, but it's an especially hard decision when you know that a coach has given his all to our university", athletic director Dan Guerrero said in a statement released by the university.

"While his first four seasons at UCLA were very successful, the past two seasons have not met expectations, Guerrero said in the press release".

However, the team never quite found its groove around Rosen.

Oil market could tip out of balance on rising non-Opec production

Martellus Bennett reportedly suffering from torn rotator cuff
New England Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett is dealing with a torn rotator cuff , according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport . On Wednesday, Bennett was suddenly cut from the Packers with the designation of failing to disclose an injury to the team.

He went 46-30 in his six years in charge of the Bruins but was just 28-26 in Pac-12 play and 17-19 overall in the past three seasons. The Bruins went 4-8 last season. Rosen's 350 passing yards per game haven't been enough.

UCLA still could become bowl-eligible with a season-ending victory over the Golden Bears (5-6) under Fisch, who joined the program from MI this season and immediately rebuilt the Bruins' offense into a solid unit.

The Gators and Bruins could both be vying for former OR head coach Chip Kelly. Although Kelly could be in the mix at Florida, it's questionable how well he'd fit in at an SEC job, where there can be obsessive attention and scrutiny on the job 365 days a year.

Former Oregon coach Chip Kelly is likely to be a top target for the Bruins, who had an incompetent offense last season before Fisch fixed it this fall.

We're about to find out just how realistic it is.
