A sudden power outage at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport brought the facility to a grounding halt around 1 p.m. Sunday. The news release also said the outage may have been caused by a fire in at Georgia Power underground electrical facility.
Georgia Power had announced at 6:30 p.m. that it expected to have power restored to the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport by midnight Sunday, according to a tweet from the City of Atlanta.
Atlanta is one of the busiest airports in the world and has lots of flights to and from Orlando and Tampa daily.
