The Mate 10 Pro was expected to be sold in the US through AT&T, but the company has provided the following statement, where it is confirmed that the Chinese giant is not going to be selling devices in the country for now.
But the collapse of the deal with AT&T, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, will mean Huawei will probably struggle to make a hit of its smartphones there as a USA mobile carrier would typically promote the products as well as provide subsidies and special package deals.
In the recent past, Huawei has only sold its handsets in the USA through its own website, through Amazon.com and other online retailers, giving its phones less market exposure and making it impossible for buyers to examine the devices before making a purchase.
Other specifications on the device include 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage a standard, there is another model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. However, the failure to secure a contract with AT&T or fellow U.S. giant Verizon drastically limits the Chinese company's growth in the American market. A deal with AT&T would've helped Huawei get its phones in front of many new consumers.
Huawei's plans for growth in the USA led to heightened scrutiny by Congress.

Blow for Huawei as AT&T deal collapses at the last minute
Huawei has denied any involvement in espionage on behalf of the Chinese government.
Today's report claims the deal was scheduled to be announced at CES 2018 in Las Vegas on Tuesday. "I think that we can bring value to the carriers and to consumers".
As the Journal reports, part of the suspicions about Huawei stem from its background, which was founded in 1987 by Ren Zhengfei, a former engineer for China's People's Liberation Army.
For now, part of Huawei's plan is to reach out to USA consumers using alternative channels such as online and physical retail stores.
Huawei told CNBC in a separate statement that it will launch new products for the USA market on Tuesday. Breaking into the US market would simply bring it closer to its lofty ambitions.
