Jack Wilshere limped off with an ankle sprain during Arsenal's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg draw at Chelsea on Wednesday night, and is a doubt for the weekend's trip to Bournemouth.

The mouthwatering London derby featuring Chelsea and Arsenal takes place for the second time already this calendar year 2018.

Wilshere, who was originally reduced to only Europa League appearances after returning to action this season, had managed to force his way breaking into Arsene Wenger's Premier League side in October and has featured in Arsenal's last seven league outings.

Victor Moses found joy in attacking inexperienced wing-back Ainsley Maitland-Niles down the Arsenal left, with David Ospina grasping a shot at the second attempt as Morata lurked.

N'Golo Kante was the next to threaten with a wayward drive which flew over the crossbar before Arsenal registered their one and only shot on target of the first half as Alex Iwobi's strike from the edge of the box was parried away by Thibaut Courtois.

Morata spurned a host of chances in the recent Premier League meeting between the two sides, but he was enjoying a growing influence on the game and came close to opening the scoring twice in quick succession shortly before the hour mark. Chelsea fans turned to gloat and taunt him after each of their goals as Arsenal fell to...

This means it is all to play for at the Emirates, when both sides face each other again in two weeks.

Arsene Wenger has been banned for three matches and fined £40,000 for his comments in the referee's changing room following Arsenal's draw against West Bromwich Albion on New Year's Eve.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are also aiming to bounce back after their goalless draw with Norwich in the third round on Saturday.

Chelsea held by second-tier Norwich
Chelsea pressed late on but the closest they came to a victor was when Davide Zappacosta shot narrowly wide in injury-time. A draw is a totally fair result .
