They are accused of using Facebook Messenger to share indecent video clips of two 15-year-olds having sex, BBC reported.
"This is a very large and complex case that has taken a long time to investigate, not least because of the large number of suspects", said North Zealand police lead investigator Chief Superintendent Lau Thygesen.
Denmark's National Cyber Crime Center said the case began past year when Facebook received reports that the sex videos were being shared on its Messenger chat platform.
The case - the biggest of its kind in Denmark - follows calls for greater efforts to clamp down on revenge porn and distribution of private material after young women previous year detailed in local newspapers how their lives had been destroyed by the publication of photos and video intended only for their partners.
U.S. authorities then informed Danish police through Interpol, who facilitate worldwide police co-operation.
"We have taken the case very seriously as it has had serious consequences for those involved because of how the material has been spread". One person was even charged in Greenland.

Ibuprofen Could Make Healthy Men In Just Two Weeks
Aspirin, the best-selling NSAID on the US market, was initially linked to stomach problems but was thought to be otherwise safe. No direct effect on fertility was shown, but the results of this initial study suggest that it warrants further investigation.
There have been calls in Denmark for more to be done to prevent so-called revenge porn.
The case, which reached Denmark via the European Union's law enforcement agency Europol, involves around 800 boys and 200 girls, majority between the ages of 15 and 20. "This could be a violation of section 235 of the criminal code, distribution of child pornography", the police statement said.
Alleged offenders were notified by email over the weekend; those aged under 18 were notified through their parents, police said.
The majority of the young people involved shared the videos a couple of times but some of those charged passed the videos around on hundreds of occasions. It can have consequences for the victims and also for those distributing. The social network informed authorities in the United States as they are required to.
Police commissioner Flemming Kjærside of the National Cyber Crime Center said the young people were aware of the potential harm done to people in the video, but may not have known they might be found criminally liable for sharing the video.
Police have promised that they will not go easy on the people who shared the illegal footage.
