Speaking at a summit in Abu Dhabi, the first sitting USA president to visit the UAE in 2008, Bush had plenty to say.

"They meddled and that is unsafe for democracy", Bush said at a business conference in Abu Dhabi.

"As far as hacking, I think it was Russia", Trump told reporters during a combative news conference at Trump Tower - only to backtrack moments later by saying "it could have been others also". He added: "It's problematic that a foreign nation is involved in our election system".

While never mentioning President Donald Trump by name, Bush appeared to be pushing back on Trump's decisions on immigration, as well as trying to have warmed relations with Russian Federation.
