The Unification Ministry said Wednesday that it set up a six-member advance team to inspect facilities and accommodations in Pyongyang ahead of planned concerts by South Korean artists.
Seoul said the North had invited the art troupe "in order to keep the momentum for peace and reconciliation", which was galvanised by the Winter Olympics and built on when South Korean special envoys met North Korean leader Kim Jong Un earlier this month.
The Ministry of Unification said that Yun Sang, 50, is deemed suitable as director of Seoul's art group, given his experience in dealing with diverse genres and the short period of preparations for a Pyongyang concert.
