WASHINGTON-President Donald Trump won't hire two previously announced lawyers to the team representing him in the special counsel's Russian Federation probe, citing conflicts of interest, a member of the team said Sunday.
"Those conflicts do not prevent them from assisting the president in other legal matters", he added. But an official close to Trump's team said the president's lawyers couldn't get past the potential problems posed by the firm's work on behalf of Corallo and Sam Clovis, a Trump campaign aide who also has spoken with Mueller's team.
Trump previously said he was "VERY happy" with his lawyers, including John Dowd, less than two weeks before Dowd quit after making comments to the press that he and the president wanted the Mueller investigation to be shut down.

DiGenova and Toensing, who are married and run their own law firm, are also staunch critics of the Clinton family. The White House, and later Dowd, had to clarify the statement, saying the president's legal team wasn't calling for Mueller to be fired. "Don't believe the Fake News narrative that it is hard to find a lawyer who wants to take this on".
This is at least the second major reshuffling of Trump's legal team in the a year ago.
Olson's firm, Gibson Dunn, decided there were too many conflicts with existing clients tied to the Russian Federation investigation and did not support the move, sources familiar with the matter told CNN. "Fame & fortune will NEVER be turned down by a lawyer, though some are conflicted", the president wrote, without mentioning diGenova or Toensing by name.
Trump representatives have reached out to some of those firms again more recently, sources said. Trump tweeted Sunday that much can be done with the money and it's "just a down payment".
