The Democratic Party on Friday sued the Russian government, United States President Donald Trump's campaign team and WikiLeaks for conspiring to influence the 2016 presidential election, reported The Washington Post.
The DNC "may very well want to divert attention from a special counsel criminal investigation, which they perceive as having dragged out so long that the public has lost interest in it, which doesn't appear to have too much meat on the bones", Napolitano, senior judicial analyst for FOX News, told Neil Cavuto.
The civil complaint filed in federal court in Manhattan by the Democratic National Committee alleges that Russian Federation informed Trump´s campaign that it had conducted a cyber attack on the DNC, leading to the release of information damaging to Trump´s rival Hillary Clinton.
The Democratic National Committee's Russian Federation collusion law suit against the Trump campaign cites a number of press stories, tweets and investigative reports as evidence, but there is one notable absence.
