The Facebook Stories Archive feature lets users save their stories to view, re-live them and share them. Besides making Stories more appealing to those who don't have much storage to spare, it also makes it easier for people who share devices with family members, according to Facebook.
These features are aimed at helping people capture and save memories in a way that they stay connected with these memories long after sharing them on Facebook.
Connor Hayes, Director of Product Management, Facebook Stories while announcing the new Voice Posts feature revealed how the company has been seeing users going creative to share Stories through audio and not video.
The most interesting feature is the Cloud Storage for photos and videos taken with the in-built Facebook camera app. These photos will not be saved on the users' phones but will only be accessible on their Facebook account.
Facebook is launching a slew of updates to its Stories feature. However, it is certainly a fresh thing for Facebook users and is created to let users start sharing their voice notes on the social networking platform. This new feature is somewhat similar to Instagram Stories archive, which was made available previous year, as pointed out by MacRumors. This isn't something all new from the Menlo Park, California-headquartered company has it already offers voice messaging support to WhatsApp. That's why Facebook's option for users to save images directly into their accounts rather than on their device, will be appealing to some. The updates are meant to help users share more on Facebook, while also making sure that Facebook Stories continues to grow its number of users.

That Facebook is targeting India (and, by extension, other developing markets) with its newest Stories features is telling. Voice posts give people a new medium through which to express themselves. Users can go back and view these Stories at any time, or choose to reshare them as a post or story.
The updated Stories also supports voice posts with a custom background instead of text, so you won't have to type to upload a voice post. This option will be available by using the app's built-in camera. Users will get an option whether they want to archive Stories.
You'll need to tap the Archive button (looks like a small clock) that is located in the Stories section above your News Feed. With the help of this feature, now users can save their stories which value them to the most.
