Amid the intense heat in New York, WTA players are permitted to take a 10-minute break off court if their match heads into a deciding set.

She walked to the back of the court, took off the shirt and turned it around, briefly exposing a sports bra, which earned her a code violation warning from chair umpire Christian Rask.
Many have been quick to call attention to the fact that male tennis players are often seen without their shirt off on the court.
Cornet, 28, went down to a three-set defeat 6-4, 3-6, 2-6 to her Swedish opponent.

'We regret that a Code Violation was assessed to Ms. Cornet yesterday. Cornet changed her shirt between the second and third sets. This is not considered a code violation. It was so sweltering at the US that the heat rule was in effect, permitting players to take 10-minutes breaks to try to cool off and drink water after their second sets.
This code violation came under the grand slam rules and we are pleased the USTA has now changed this policy. "Men change their shirts on court all the time. that's ridiculous!" another fan tweeted.
Cornet, who was playing in a doubles match Wednesday, was given no further penalty or fine. "Unsportsmanlike conduct. But the men can change shirts on court", she tweeted. We follow WTA proceedures regarding bathroom breaks.
WTA rules state women are not allowed to change while on the court, according to the Daily Mail.
