Video from the Texas Department of Public safety showed a high-speed auto chase that ended in a crash with the female motorist running off while carrying a baby inside vehicle seat.

Rodriguez then exited her auto and ran around to the passenger rear door and took out the baby in its vehicle seat. Investigators say the driver, identified as Catilyn Rodriquez, was wanted on warrants but fled when troopers tried to pull her over.

She is seen running through traffic before troopers say she tried to carjack a woman who also had a child in the auto.

Recently, the Texas Department of Public Safety presented a video of aviation operations at a Public Safety Commission meeting.

The mum led police on a 100mph auto chase before she crashed her vehicle.

Video shows Rodriguez in a Mercedes SUV speeding down Highway 90.

The SUV then attempts to avoid a police spike strip draped across the road, but it catches and pops the vehicle's front left tyre.

Rodriguez could then be seen running around to the passenger's side of the auto, where she grabbed the infant's vehicle seat and took off running across a busy street. The driver of that vehicle left the auto, taking a child from the backseat, before the police arrived.

ABC News reports that the baby was taken into care by social services and that the woman was charged with evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and endangering a child.

The baby was placed in protective custody.
