Former world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka has questioned the coaching violation handed to Serena Williams by chair umpire Carlos Ramos during the US Open final on Saturday and believes that Ramos should have issued her with a soft warning before dishing out the code violation.
The first violation came when Ramos ruled that Williams was receiving illegal coaching from her coach Patrick Mouratoglou.

"An umpire so wrecked a big occasion that both players, Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams alike, wound up distraught with tears streaming down their faces during the trophy presentation and an incensed crowd screamed boos at the court", Ms Jenkins wrote. Williams was upset by the accusation, denying that she received any coaching and claiming that her coach was simply giving her a thumbs up.

According to Williams, life is just about working hard even when you're done; the spice of life is dealing with the ebb and flow of life's challenges, whether they're positive or negative. "They're going to be allowed to do that because of today", Williams said.
The fall-out from this final is likely to rumble on for some time, with the long-time coaching partnership between Williams and Mouratoglou now under real strain.
