Sen. Lindsey Graham got really, really mad at the Kavanaugh hearing

If you told me a few years ago that I'd be singing the praises of South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, I would have laughed in your face. Democrats and Republicans - and Kavanaugh himself - sparred over explosive allegations that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted an acquaintance while both were teenagers. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and Debra Katz, one of Ford's attorneys who has been involved in Democratic politics in the past.

"Boy, y'all want power. I hope you never get it", Graham said, shaking his head. He said before the vote that he, in agreement with Democrats, would be calling for a one-week delay to allow the FBI to investigate. It contains mildly objectionable language.

Throughout their riveting, nationally televised testimony on Thursday, Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh served as Exhibits A and B for a tutorial on gender roles and stereotypes.

"Brett's assault on me drastically altered my life", Ford told the committee.

"All I can tell you is it came from somebody who had a political motive". She was expected to endure it, no matter how degrading, stupid or useless the questions asked of her.

Over the weekend, after the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to pass Kavanaugh's nomination to the full Senate, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced it would investigate the allegations against the judge, who if confirmed by the Senate, would serve a life term as a Supreme Court justice.

"And if you really wanted to know the truth, you sure as hell wouldn't have done what you've done to this guy". On September 27, Smerconish posted on Twitter that "without calling Mark Judge", the hearing was simply "a kangaroo court".

The Ford lawyers' statement also said further details about the upcoming hearing are still to be worked out. The Democratic Senate offices reviewing the allegations believe that they merit further investigation.

Kavanaugh Vote Faces Potential Delay As GOP Plans Investigation Of Assault Claims
Even if Democrats peel off the one Republican vote to not recommend Kavanaugh to the full Senate, Republicans have another option. He said the normal process for digesting late-breaking information would involve phone calls with "at least" Kavanaugh and Ford.

Kavanaugh's mention of the Clintons was apparently a reference to when in the 1990s he worked for Ken Starr while Starr was an independent counsel investigating President Bill Clinton and business dealings of Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Kavanaugh has strongly and categorically denied that he has ever committed sexual assault or sexual misconduct.

On the other side, Democratic Sen.

Nevertheless, she added, "I don't expect Judge Kavanaugh or Jake Tapper or Jeff Flake or anybody to be held responsible for that".

If one more week guarantees at least 51 votes in the Senate, then perhaps this Federal Bureau of Investigation probe is necessary. That could change. After Thursday, a lot of otherwise marginal Republican voters will be motivated by the Kavanaugh travesty and the Democrats' disgusting tactics. "Why Dr. Ford didn't know we were willing to come to California".

"That's illegal, inappropriate", Graham, one of Kavanaugh's biggest allies in the Senate, said Sunday on ABC's "This Week".
