"The security forces are in pursuit of the reprehensible murderer", he said. Several Palestinians have been arrested for questioning in connection with the attack. The Barkan Industrial Park includes approximately 120 businesses and factories and a workforce of 20,000, half of them Palestinian Arabs.

The military said that the suspect used a homemade "Carlo" gun in the attack.

In the meantime, Israeli police detained a Palestinian from Jerusalem's Old City.

In the southern West Bank, forces raided Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem, detaining a woman and her 21-year-old daughter, identified as a former prisoner.

This was the third time Karajeh is detained by Israel, he was released from Israeli prisons past year; he was previously detained twice, once in 2013 and another time in 2016, during which he served nearly 40 months of imprisonment.

Israelis have portrayed the industrial zone as a symbol of coexistence, though it is located entirely in the West Bank, occupied by Israel since 1967. The night of the attack, they had questioned the shooter's siblings.

Israeli sources told local media that Na'alowa, who left a suicide note with a friend days before the attack, likely remains armed and could engage in a firefight with authorities after they track him down.

The situation in the zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict escalated in September 2015.

Palestinians often face tough choices in finding employment under Israeli occupation, especially in the economically struggling West Bank.

Israel and Hamas have been brought to the brink of war on multiple occasions over the past few months, as weekly protests along the Gaza border since March 30 have triggered frequent clashes and multiple rounds of rocket fire and retaliatory strikes between the two sides.

Israeli soldiers responded with tear gas and live fire. The West Bank has remained a bastion of calm by comparison but there are fears that tensions in the Strip and from such killings could spill over into the occupied territory.
