The Met Office had issued a yellow weather warning for Northern Ireland.

The weather warning is due to stay in force until midnight.

This video, taken by Tom Hurley, shows the waves coming over the sea wall and the seafront road submerged in water.

Motorists are being warned to exercise extreme caution along all road networks as there have been numerous reports of fallen trees on routes nationwide.

Met Éireann expects scattered showers of heavy rain to fall today, with forecaster John Eagleton saying the south east will be hit the worst.

"Please remember not to attempt to drive through closed roads or floodwater and, if conditions are stormy, please keep away from exposed coasts".

"Here we could see up to 200mm or more in some localised area here and that could bring more flooding".

Storm Callum is weakening after its gusty winds and strong rains killed two people and caused damages in some parts of Britain.

Mr Sharpling, from Newcastle Emlyn, was killed as torrential rain hit the area causing flooding in many areas.

Several flights were cancelled out of Dublin and Belfast due to the storm on Friday morning, but airports were otherwise operating as normal.

Secretary of State for Wales Alun Cairns has spoken of his sadness at the loss of life during Storm Callum.

"The areas that have seen the bulk of the sunshine over the last couple of days will then be under the cloud, with patchy, light rain and drizzle at times", said meteorologist Simon Partridge.

The Republic of Ireland has been the worst affected by Storm Callum, with 20,000 homes and business left without power on Friday morning. "That's quite a substantial amount of rain to come and could bring flooding".

Things will clear up a little overnight, however more rain will push up through the south west in the early hours of Sunday.

Donna Nook in Lincolnshire reached 26.5C on Saturday, making it the warmest October day in seven years.
