To achieve that Qualcomm had introduced new Snapdragon Elite Gaming that brings a bunch of powerful features to enhance the gaming experience on most of the powerful flagship phones, which are slated to launch with the Snapdragon 855, next year. Of course, the companies involved: Qualcomm, Ericsson, Samsung and Verizon had plenty of reasons why this was the case. This is going to be a pretty big advancement for Qualcomm, and it should lead to more under-display fingerprint sensors that actually work as you would expect them too.

"Samsung offers end-to-end solutions that are accelerating the wide scale adoption of 5G and help us realize our vision of truly connected living", said Justin Denison, senior vice president, mobile product strategy and marketing at Samsung Electronics America, in a press release. Per AT&T, "AT&T today announced plans to grow its mobile 5G device lineup with a 5G smartphone from Samsung in the first half of 2019". The OEMs include ASUS, Google, Samsung, HMD Global, OnePlus, Motorola, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, among other brands. This second announcement included the following. According to a Bloomberg report released on Monday, Apple will probably release its 5G enabled smartphones only in 2020. "This smartphone from Samsung will be able to access both 5G mmWave and sub-6 GHz". Most major US cities are expected to get 5G coverage next year, and since it's expected to be a huge improvement over 4G in terms of performance, most consumers would be drawn to 5G phones. "Every Android vendor is working on 5G right now". Given AT&T only confirms one device here, the same logic stands. At first, 5G's rollout is likely to be slow and gradual, with only a few devices having 5G connectivity at first, and it'll only be available in a few markets initially.

Qualcomm Technologies at its third annual Snapdragon Tech Summit in Maui, Hawaii announced the Snapdragon 855, the chipset that Qualcomm says is most advanced of all times and will make the impossible, inevitable.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 is said to feature the company's fourth generation, multi-core Qualcomm AI Engine, with up to three times the AI performance compared to the previous generation mobile platform. That is "a prototype specifically created for this particular demo" and that we "shouldn't read anything into how it looks, performs, or the hardware decisions that were made".

As you can see, the notch is sloped into the corner. Earlier this week, the company was caught using an iPhone to promote its Galaxy Note 9 on Twitter.

Sullivan also said that as the 5G standard allows for expansive capacity, the throttling thresholds that we're used to seeing on current mobile service plans will disappear.
