The 2019 edition will be the festival's 20th, and follows a year in which Beyonce, the Weeknd and Eminem were the main attractions at the Goldenvoice-produced event. What makes this year's arrangement different from the past 8th years both sides had done business, is that 2019 marks the year both Coachella weekends receive live-streaming coverage. Rumours of his appearance at the cult music festival began a year ago alongside whispers of Justin Timberlake and Childish Gambino.

It typically attracts some of the biggest names in music with previous headliners including Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga and Drake.

Joining Tame Impala are Childish Gambino, Ariana Grande, who are also set to headline this year's desert fest once again returning to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California for two weekends.

The 2017 festival attracted 250,000 people, according to organisers. Khalid, Gesaffelstein, and Bad Bunny are among the acts slated for sets on Sunday.
