Oladipo suffered the injury yesterday in the first half against the Toronto Raptors.

With the Pacers' holding a narrow lead over their conference rivals, the injury to Oladipo could enable various teams to move up the standings and earn themselves a better playoff seeding. The team announced Oladipo will undergo an MRI exam on Thursday, but ESPN reported, citing league sources, that a preliminary examination has the Pacers fearful the injury will be season-ending. He is the Pacers' top scorer this season at 19.2 points per game.

The Pacers now hold the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference and are 17 games above.500 for the first time in 4½ years. The Pacers say an MRI revealed today that Oladipo has a ruptured quadriceps tendon in his knee and he will have to have surgery to fix it.

Oladipo had to be taken off the court on a stretcher in the second quarter after collapsing while chasing down Pascal Siakam.

Reaction to the injury poured in quickly across social media. "We have to go out and grind out wins and stay together through thick and thin".
