A teenager who fled the United Kingdom to join the so-called Islamic State in Syria can expect to be "spoken to" if she returns to the country, a top police chief has warned.

The letter from the Home Office says: 'Please find enclosed papers that relate to the decision taken by the home secretary to deprive your daughter, Shamima Begum, of her British citizenship.

Lord Carlile, former independent reviewer of terrorism legislation, said Ms Begum could challenge the decision, and described it as a "complex issue" that could take a while to resolve.

Riedijk who is from Arnhem, joined ISIS in 2014 and reportedly married Begum within three weeks of her fleeing Bethnal Green in London for Syria in 2015. "So they'd only have proof I didn't anything that is unsafe", she said.

Shafee El Sheikh, an alleged British ISIS member, part of a group of fighters dubbed "the Beatles" due to their English accents, had his British citizenship revoked in 2014. "I'll do anything required just to be able to come home and live quietly with my child", Begum made a number of incongruous statements since which had the apparent effect of outraging the British public.

Addressing the Commons on Monday, he revealed more than 100 people have been barred from entering Britain due to their status as foreigners, or by having their British citizenship stripped if they are dual nationals. "In order to protect this country, he has the power to deprive someone of their British citizenship where it would not render them stateless".

She admitted that she was aware of beheadings and executions conducted by the jihadists, but said that she was "okay with it", because she had heard "Islamically that is allowed".

Ms Begum, who told The Times she did not regret travelling to IS-controlled Syria, said she understood she could face a police investigation if she manages to return.

Begum was the subject of an worldwide search when, as a 15-year-old, she and two other teenage girls ran away from their homes in London and made their way through Turkey into Syria.

She left London in February 2015 with two school friends to follow another classmate to Syria.

Shown a copy of the letter in the refugee camp by a reporter from ITV News, Begum said the decision to remove her citizenship was "kind of heart-breaking to read" and "hard to swallow". I never encouraged people to come to Syria.

British Security Minister Ben Wallace was reported by the BBC as saying that while the government might consider in case of jihadi brides-understood to fall into the latter category-the British government would consider helping them to come home.

Akunjee said Sunday Javid was "misunderstanding the law" and that Britain had a responsibility towards Begum and her newborn child.

Britain's Home Secretary Sajid Javid has said he would "not hesitate" to prevent the return to Britain of anyone who has supported terrorist organizations aboard.

The Bangladeshi government does not appear to have responded yet - but it might be possible for Dhaka to quickly cut off this avenue by removing her eligibility for Bangladeshi citizenship, thrusting the problem back at Britain.
