Citing unidentified law enforcement officials, the New York Post and other news outlets reported that a woman went to police on Thursday and said Porzingis raped her in his Manhattan apartment past year while he was playing for the Knicks.
On Saturday, the New York Post published a report detailing a New York Police Department investigation into a woman's complaint that she was raped by Porzingis in 2018.
The woman told cops she waited over a year to talk to police because Porzingis allegedly promised to give her money to keep her quiet, the sources told the Post. She told police that she and Porzingis discussed $68,000 in hush money. A high-ranking source within the NYPD told Moore they consider the woman "believable".
"The woman - who is in her 20s and also lived in the building - told cops the National Basketball Association star visited her apartment at around 2 a.m., and that she accepted his invitation to go back to his [penthouse]".
