Panasonic kicked off Photokina 2016 in Cologne, Germany, by launching three new cameras. The combination of the High Sensitivity MOS Sensor and a Venus Engine achieves a maximum ISO 12,800 high sensitivity recording with high picture quality that goes beyond the limits of compact digital cameras.
A preliminary "teaser" image for the coming Lumix GH5 camera.
Through technologies such as digital signal processing and heat dissipation, packing them into the compact, lightweight body of a Digital Single Lens Mirrorless camera, the LUMIX GH5 enables 4K 60p/50p and 4:2:2 10-bit 4K video recording, which has never before been achieved.
Finally, the Lumix FZ2000 (or FZ2500) is a new flagship bridge camera, again built around a 1-inch 20.1-megapixel MOS sensor.

The LUMIX LX15 records stunningly smooth, high-resolution QFHD 4K video in 3840x2160 at 30p / 25p (50Hz Area) or 24p in MP4 in addition to the full-HD 1,920 x 1,080/ 50p videos in AVCHD Progressive or MP4 (MPEG-4 / H.264) format with practical full-time AF. There's Panasonic's lovely 4K Photo system on board too, which means you can extract stills at 8MP from 4K videos, or shoot 8MP still bursts at high speed. Panasonic has also given a helpful nod to all-day shooters with the battery-lengthening Power Save Mode, which keeps the camera in automatic standby when not in use and boosts battery life from around 320 shots per charge to 800.
The new 6K snaps are achieved by extracting a still image from a high-quality video (Panasonic claims the resolution is nine times sharper than Full HD) and are said to be equivalent to an 18-megapixel sensor.
Third in line is the LUMIX FZ2500. In a huge announcement during Photokina 2016, Panasonic announced that their much-awaited Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH5 is under development and would be released at some point in 2017. If the performance is anything like the FZ1000's 1-inch sensor, you can expect better color, detailed dynamic range and low-light performance for photos and video than a typical camcorder or point-and-shoot. The camera captures raw images, burst shooting up to 12fps and features an OLED EVF with a 2.3million dot resolution.
