Keepers said all observations and behavior indicate the calf will be born Friday.
"The staff have been onsite with April all morning, Dr. Tim was called and onsite within minutes". Zookeepers at Animal Adventure Park say April's pregnancy is moving along and "we could be hours away" from welcoming a new giraffe to the property.
The park added: "This is what we have all been waiting for!"
The park's caretakers were live on Facebook this morning talking about the big news. "It should not be much longer!" Others are beginning to wonder if they've been duped all along - given that Saturday is April Fools' Day and the giraffe's name is April. Four hours later, almost 200,000 watched as April calmly flicked her tongue while her beau Oliver stood in the background.
When April is ready to give birth, she will do so standing in her barn.
This will be April's fourth calf, according to Animal Adventure Park.

Male giraffes instinctively care about three things. Bulls take no part in rearing young.
Giraffes can be in labor anywhere from hours to a full day. They would be "shocked" if the calf wasn't born by the end of the weekend. Though her belly hangs lower than ever and her baby's kicks are vigorous and visible, the mother giraffe appears none the worse for wear, placidly going about her daily routine under the camera's unblinking eye, in her pen at Animal Adventure Park (AAP) in Harpursville, New York.
April has been with Animal Adventure Park since September 2015 and this is her first calf birth at the park. The front hooves will reportedly come out first subsequently followed by the snout.
