An NIA team led by senior members is now in Srinagar to probe the funding of Hurriyat, after a news channel aired clips of its leaders confessing on camera that they were being funded by state and non-state elements from Pakistan.
Saturday questioned three separatist leaders over funding from Pakistan, India's most wanted and JuD chief Hafiz Saeed and militant groups for carrying subversive activities in Jammu and Kashmir.

Following an intense pressure from different corners, Nayeem Khan Provincial President of Hurriyat Conference finally breaks silence over the Sting Operation conducted by the Delhi based channel while saying that the "sting operation" is "fake and doctored".
Following the sting operation, the probe agency also identified the hotel in Srinagar in which the sting operation took place and it was completing formalities of identification of the room and collection of records. Trying to salvage Pakistan and other Hurriyat leaders of the charges of funding Kashmir violence, the top Hurriyat leader Nayeem Khan said Pakistan is a basic party to the Kashmir dispute and it supports the Kashmir movement politically and diplomatically.

"The TV channel has run a doctored video to defame the Kashmir movement". Khan will continue to remain suspended until "the clarification of all the related issues comes to the fore", Hurriyat spokesperson said.
Nayeem Khan, who was suspended by Geelani from Hurriyat today, had purportedly confessed to receiving money from Pakistan-based terror groups in a sting operation on television. "It does not have a shred of credibility", he said. He said Pakistan condemns these killings and arrest and persecution of Kashmiri leadership.
The NIA has filed a case against separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani and other Hurriyat leaders for allegedly receiving money from the Lashkar-e-Taiba to fund "subversive" activities in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
