Instead, voters want Trump out because he is not fit to be president.
On Thursday, Brookline passed a resolution calling for Trump's impeachment, a step created to add pressure on the State's congressmen to launch a formal bid that could eventually lead to the President's removal from office. The signatures soared to more than 1 million after the Texas Democratic Congressman Al Green's called for impeachment proceedings from the House floor. He can, according to many legal experts, even pardon himself, though in that case he could still be impeached and removed from office, just not prosecuted for any crimes (impeachment is not a criminal proceeding, but is simply a process for removing a person from office).
Meanwhile, revelations that White House Senior Advisor Jared Kushner is a point of focus in the FBI's Russia investigation, and that the president allegedly told Russian officials in the Oval Office that former FBI Director James Comey was sacked to ease the "pressure" on him due to the probe, could at some point result in more calls for Trump's impeachment.
President Nixon White House Counsel John Dean - a Republican, the master manipulator of the Watergate cover-up and key witness against his boss - said, "I don't think Richard Nixon even comes close to the level of corruption we already know about Trump". The towns calling for congressional action to remove the president from office include the MA municipalities of Amherst, Brookline, Cambridge, Leverett and Pelham, as well as the California municipalities of Alameda, Berkeley, Los Angeles and Richmond, Politico reports.
The second, more significant factor, is whether members of Congress would find it in their own interests to impeach the president.

On May 22, a Harvard-Harris survey found that only 41 percent of registered voters believed that Trump's presidency would end in impeachment while 59 percent were skeptical, The Hill reports.
Democrats as a party must be willing to argue that Donald Trump is unfit to serve as President. Alderman Ameya Pawar, who introduced the resolution, cited Trump's firing of FBI Director James Comey as the main reason for launching the bid.
Support for impeachment rose despite Trump's overseas trip.
Opinions on impeachment mostly fall along partisan lines. He is a radical supporter of Israel's right-wing extremist Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, with ties to the the powerful pro-Israel AIPAC lobby group.
If Trump were to be impeached and convicted, Mike Pence as president would be capable of doing much greater damage to Middle East policy in practice than Trump has been able to achieve with rhetoric alone.
