Tottenham Hotspur announce the signing of Juan Foyth from Estudiantes for a reported £8m.

Spurs are on course to confirm a string of signings ahead of the final day of the summer transfer window, having sealed moves for Davinson Sanchez and Paulo Gazziniga last week.

The news of Foyth's arrival comes not long after Tottenham confirmed former fringe defender Kevin Wimmer had agreed a move to Premier League rivals Stoke City after making just 31 appearances in two years at the club.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has finally managed to land his target and the 19-year-old defender, who has represented his country at Under-20 level, has put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal.

Foyth has been capped 12 times for the Argentina Under-20s and played a key role in the nation's Under-20 World Cup campaign earlier this summer.

Granderson, at 36 years old, also brings another veteran presence to the team seeking it's first World Series win in 29 years. Granderson batted just.228 in 111 games with NY this season but has hit 19 home runs and driven in 52 runs.

The exact amount of the transfer fee was not disclosed, but was though to be between £7m-10m.

At one point it appeared Mauricio Pochettino could lose out on his compatriot altogether, as Paris Saint-Germain also registered their interest.

The Argentina under-20 worldwide gave an interview earlier in the week confirming that he would sign for Spurs and citing Mauricio Pochettino as a major factor in his decision.

"It's a club that believes in young players and I'm very pleased".

"I believe my style of play is about bringing the ball out and keeping it on the floor. He also told me what the club was like and what his work ethic was".
