A crash in Nisku on Monday that ended with five naked people in police custody began with a kidnapping, RCMP said on Tuesday. The man, whose age was not given, was forced into a vehicle's trunk. When they arrived, they found that five people in the auto - a man and four women - were naked.

A total of five suspects were arrested at the collision location, although, the release states, two of them were youth and were released with no charges.

The five people are believed to have kidnapped a mum, a dad and their newborn baby, for reasons unknown, and then stripped off in -12C weather.

"The RCMP believe that this was a targeted incident and that all parties were known to each other", the police statement said.
