The president attacked the news network, particularly its global arm, in a tweet calling it "fake news".

United States President Donald Trump took a break from golf to back his favourite cable news station and bash the network he finds most damaging. "Trump drew criticism when he tweeted out a fake video of himself taking down CNN back in July with the hashtag "#FraudNewsCNN". However, examples of the pro-Trump website's work can still be seen on its Twitter account.

"Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that can not be limited without being lost".

According to trump, broadcasting company FoxNews is more important in the U.S. than CNN, and beyond the state of the latter still remains a leading source of false information, to broadcast.

This week, the Department of Justice challenged a merger between AT&T and Time Warner, which owns CNN.

Trump's tweet-thanks to Maga Pill came three days into the president's Thanksgiving holiday weekend in Florida, a getaway stuffed with golf and media rumination. "It's not CNN's job to represent the USA to the world".

Comey, arguably one of FBI's most controversial directors, has been criticized, particularly by Trump, for leaking information to the press.
