Onlookers cheered as the couple arrived at the station, housed inside shipping containers in the diverse south London district, a hub for Britain's African and Caribbean communities.

On an impromptu walkabout later, she was showered with flowers and cards as she shook hands with the crowd, expertly steered by Harry.

Hundreds lined the streets of Brixton to greet Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle.

Twitter users were swift to identify her £45 sweater as from British brand M&S's Autograph collection, which Markle teamed with Burberry pants, a coat by Smythe, and a scarf from Jigsaw.

Station founder Shane Carey said news of their visit had caused "massive excitement" in the area. I think they're [a] very good match, I'm very happy for them, Meghan and Harry.

She distanced herself from comments about a tweet she posted which was interpreted as criticising the prince after he said his relatives were the family his actress fiancée "never had". They also met with people who explained Reprezent's employment and skills development programs for youth.

The couple is planning to Wednesday on May 19, 2018, at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
