Their relationship has been strained ever since, with much focus put on how heartbroken Riley was to lose Wade to another team.

While attending a funeral last week for his longtime agent Henry Thomas, the next chapter of Dwyane Wade's Hall of Fame career began.

Wade, 36, first thanked the Cavs fan base before shifting his attention to the Miami Heat organization.

Thomas is, unfortunately, the biggest loser out of all the trades which the Cavaliers made on deadline day, as he will be playing his contract year at the Lakers and he might not even be given the opportunity to start since Magic Johnson has said Lonzo Ball will start at point guard. "The hug that we embraced was real and it was all we needed", Wade explained. Obviously it wasn't the season that everyone wanted but I think for the most part I came in and I tried my best, so I hope that you guys see that and felt that.

"For me, I'm at the point where you get this high up in years played in the National Basketball Association, you kind of take the summer to think about what you want as a player and go from there. Life is now", Riley said. This is something that we've talked about for a long time as a family.

Wade has kept a home in Miami, and his two sons and a nephew he is raising have been attending school there this year. Micky [Arison, Heat owner] is very pro Dwyane. It's just insane that it took a hug at a funeral for them to start the process of doing it. Coach [Erik Spoelstra] is very pro Dwyane. I am.
