Revenue in the company's More Personal Computing division, which includes its Windows PC business, Surface products and gaming teams rose 13 percent $9.9 billion for the quarter.
Microsoft returned $6.3 billion to shareholders in the form of share repurchases and dividends in the third quarter of fiscal year 2018, a year-over-year increase of 37%.
Revenue was $26.8 billion and increased 16%.
Net income was $7.4 billion and increased 35%. Azure alone grew revenues by 93 per cent, which is a little down from the 98 per cent figure in the previous quarter.
"We delivered double-digit revenue and operating income growth driven by 58% growth in our commercial cloud revenue".

Analysts expected Microsoft to earn 85 cents a share on sales of $25.71 billion, according to Zacks Investment Research. Gaming revenue grew 16^ driven by the Xbox and third party title strength.
