That would firmly place it again in the No. 1 spot, but it would fall short of second-weekend record-holder Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which made $149.2 million during its second weekend.
The Marvel Studios film, which stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and features a litany of superheroes, reached the milestone one day earlier than the previous record held by 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".
Should its current pace at the box office, with the added help from China, continue, it would be safe to assume that Infinity War could cross the $2 billion mark by the end of its run at theaters. Aside from Infinity War's opening weekend, its drop from weekend to weekend has remained consistently around 30 percent.
