The YouTube Red offered premium content, music streaming and access to original programs without ads.

In terms of price, YouTube Music will be available for $9.99 per month.

In an interview, reported on by CNET, Lyor Cohen, YouTube's head of music, said that the company plans to "spend an enormous amount on marketing" to promote the new music service, but will not seek to strike exclusives for album releases. The brand will bring Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom later.

At present Music is a modified YouTube app that requires a red subscription.

Current Google Play Music subscribers will get a YouTube Music Premium membership thrown into their current deal, and have been reassured that "nothing will change". Google's music streaming efforts have been somewhat confusing in recent years, so the introduction of YouTube Music should help streamline its product offering.

Yep, that's right. The YouTube Music that has been around for quite some time is being revamped and comes with a new price tag. the application seems to largely be unchanged, as screenshots shared by Google show a three-tabbed interface. Meanwhile, Red is being replaced by a "Premium" tier that is slightly more expensive for new subscribers.

But what exactly is YouTube Music?

Previous reports suggested that the service, thought to have been called YouTube Remix, would replace Google Play Music.

So in summary, YouTube Red is more expensive and includes a music service, YouTube Music will get a web player soon, and Play Music is still in limbo. An upgrade to YouTube Music Premium, priced at $9.99 a month, will remove those ads and allow for background playback and music downloads. Not only do you have to pay $2 extra for the YouTube Premium but you will also need to shell out another $10 for the YouTube Music and that climbs up to a $12 extra/month.

YouTube Premium is rolling out in the same markets as YouTube Music, following the same schedule. Also, the video-sharing site also ready to charge more on its original shows like Cobra Kai. As long as you describe it well, or provide a line or two of lyrics, it will give you the song you want.
