For Earl Thomas, Sunday began with reports that multiple teams - including his opponent, the Dallas Cowboys - were interested in opening up trade talks with the Seattle Seahawks for his services. After a Week 16 game with the Cowboys last season, Thomas made a personal appeal to Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett to trade for him, something that drew the ire of his teammates and the club. In turn, Thomas skipped offseason workouts and only reported to Seattle just before the season started. "Me being a leader on the team, me being a better player on this team, I got to do a better job of taking care of the ball".
The Earl Thomas saga with the Seattle Seahawks appears to be far from over. Elliott broke free for a 26-yard run to the Seattle 19 earlier in the quarter, but had the ball punched free from behind by Bradley McDougald and recovered by the Seahawks.
