One of the unintentionally amusing things about this is that Francesa is yelling up and down about the stupidity and disrespect of the idea that Rice could coach an National Football League team with no experience, when he definitely believes that he could go in and coach the Giants.

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice downplayed an odd ESPN report that the NFL's Cleveland Browns are considering her for their head coach position.

There has never been a woman interviewed for a head coaching job in the NFL.

"BTW - I'm not ready to coach but I would like to call a play or two next season if the Browns need ideas!"

Schefter reports that Browns general manager John Dorsey said last week that he is open to hiring woman as the team's next head coach. He says the team's "coaching search will be thorough and deliberate" and Rice "has not been discussed".

If the NFL is going to finally be serious about diversifying its coaching ranks, floating famous names with little-to-no football experience like Rice is not the way to do it.
