The directors have been making the rounds during the movie's press tour, and though they have been asked many questions there are very few they can actually answer. In exactly one month, fans will finally discover how the surviving Avengers plan to avenge their fallen comrades and potentially undo Thanos' decimation with the help of newcomer Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).

However, Joe and Anthony Russo have now directed four movies for Marvel, and not just any four movies, but four of the biggest movies within the MCU: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and now Avengers: Endgame.

However, if the existence of Spider-Man Far From Home is anything to go by, this won't be their situation for much longer come the events of Avengers Endgame.

Speaking to a reporter on the sidelines of a Shanghai press tour, the Marvel Studios president said the sequel to Spider-man: Homecoming will be the last movie in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "You're the first one I've told that to".

In one sense this makes sense because, beyond Spider-Man Far From Home, Marvel Studios have yet to officially announce the Phase 4 line-up of movies despite rumours of sequels for now deceased characters like Black Panther and Doctor Strange.

Most had assumed that the upcoming Avengers: Endgame would close the third phase of the 11-year-old franchise. For example, Avengers: Age of Ultron was not the official end of "Phase Two".

Whatever this crossover will look like, it seems like it's slated to kick off on Thursday, April 25, the same day that Avengers Endgame will first hit theaters.
