According to the Brazilian newspaper Folha Press, Mr Soares reportedly tripped on his shoelace before he fell. Tales Soares (Cotta), a 26-year-old model from Brazil fell on the ramp during one of the shows and died in a freaky accident.

Tales Soares's agent at the MGT Base agency, Rogério Campaneli, told Brazil's FocusOn News that doctors are looking into what caused the model's death.

The audience had thought his collapse was part of the show until emergency workers rushed onto the stage as he began foaming at the mouth.

The video shows that the model was stumbled after turning back and suddenly fell face on the runway.

No further information was given, but Tales' sister told Brazilian media outlet G1 that she was unaware of him suffering any health problems.

"We emphasize that the model always had exemplary behaviour".

"He had a healthy diet (he was a vegetarian), did not use illicit substances and was considered in full healthy condition to participate in the parade".

No further details on the young model's death have been revealed. "And we ask for respect at this moment of deep sadness".

On the official Instagram account of Sao Paulo Fashion Week, a statement read: "May God welcome you with open arms!" Life is definitely a catwalk, we're just passing through!
