Although it has yet to be confirmed by either Samsung or Epic Games, a report last week claimed that when Fortnite finally launches on Android, it will be exclusive to the Galaxy Note 9 for a limited time. A source tells AndroidHeadlines that once the Note 9 exclusivity ends, Samsung might retain exclusive rights to the game for an additional two to three months. With a huge and ostensibly trustworthy game publisher instructing its players to disable the outside sources security check on their phones, malware distributors need only expend a tiny amount of effort to make their previously shady-looking security bypass look like Epic's legitimate instructions on how to play the game. This cut includes any in-app purchases, which is primarily how Fortnite makes money.
The massively popular free-to-play battle royale game Fortnite is launching soon on Android. On smartphones, however, Blizzard distributes its card game Hearthstone through the Google Play and Apple stores just like any other app.
While a release date is still yet to be announced, Epic announced today that the Android port of Fortnite will only be available for download on Epic's website.
